Our Installation Process
We offer a first-class installation process for Tar & Chip driveways here at Home Counties Paving and Surfacing, starting with an initial consultation.
During this consultation, we will survey the area, taking accurate measurements. We will then sit down with you to discuss your design requirements in further detail before creating your bespoke Tar & Chip driveway design.
Once the design has been finalised, we will provide you with a free quote for the project, with no obligation to commit. Upon acceptance of our quote, we will set a convenient date on which to begin the installation.
Our team will excavate the driveway site before packing in a mixed-aggregate sub-base, which provides a strong foundation. We can then cover this sub-base with the hot bitumen, which acts as a seal for the sub-base. Our team will then spread your chosen aggregate over the hot bitumen before using a heavy roller to press the aggregate into the bitumen. This will then dry and set, generally within 48 hours, creating the stunning Tar & Chip surface.
We always thoroughly inspect your surface upon completion, ensuring it meets our high standards.
